Fountain Partners and Fountain Financial Partners were founded by Tom Carter, CFA. Tom started Fountain Partners in 2001 to provide advisory services and personal capital to select companies innovating within the financial services sector. On the capital side, Tom invested directly and through other managers participating in alternative investment strategies, including asset-based lending and real estate debt and equity strategies. Tom has also invested directly in several private companies. On the services side, Tom provided consulting to early-stage technology and services companies and served as CFO of StarMine from 2001 to 2006.  StarMine is a leading supplier of quantitative analytics for both quantitative and fundamental equity investors, earning Inc. 500 honors for three consecutive years before accepting an acquisition offer from Reuters.

Tom founded Fountain Financial Partners, LLC in 2006 as a specialty finance company designed to provide entrepreneurs and venture capitalists with a fixed rate source of growth capital and chose equipment leasing as the preferred strategy to deliver that service.
